Daniel Berg became EBRD Director in Bulgaria in July 2010. He manages the Bank’s office which is responsible for annual investments averaging Euro 150 million per year. Daniel joined EBRD in 1995, coming from the US Department of Treasury, and served as Advisor in the US Executive Director for three years. In 1997, he transferred to full-time EBRD staff within the Banking Department, where he worked for the Financial Institutions Team. In 2000, he moved to Almaty Kazakhstan, where he developed the Bank’s operations across sectors. From Kazakhstan, in 2004, Daniel became Head of Office in the Kyrgyz Republic, managing the office and overall operations. He was then asked to assume a similar role in Albania in 2007, followed by a Director’s position for Bulgaria. In August 2015, he took over the role of Director for Serbia. Daniel is educated in the US, at Rutgers College and Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies.
Mr. Elvin Guri is an entrepreneur and investor with a successful track record in financial services. Currently CEO of Empower Capital Advisors, manager of Empower Capital Fund, a EUR 26 million fund investing in Bulgarian lower and mid-market industrial companies. Previously with PwC and EBRD, in 2001-2002 he co-founded JetFinance International, which became the largest consumer finance lender in South East Europe (sold to BNP Paribas Personal Finance in 2007). Mr. Guri has an MBA from the University of Oxford Said Business School. He also supports various educational initiatives in Bulgaria and Albania.
Vuk is Partner at Blue Sea Capital. Based in Belgrade, he primarily works on investments in Serbia, also providing support on deals across the region.
Vuk worked on the consolidation of Serbian healthcare sector, through investment in MediGroup, including partial exit from MediGroup and partnership with MEP. He also provided support, including the execution of deals, bolt-on acquisitions and disposals, on BSC’s other investments.
Vuk joined Blue Sea from Fidelity International in London. Before that, Vuk worked for KPMG in Serbia, both in audit and advisory. He received his MBA from London Business School and is also a CFA charterholder.
Branko Greganović has been the President of the Executive Board of NLB Banka Belgrade since May 2014. He is an executive with rich international experience in public and private sector, corporate finance and restructuring.
After completing his studies in economics, he obtained Master’s Degree in Economics from the University of Ljubljana and Master’s Degree in Management from the London Business School, University of London. He gained his business experience at the National Bank of Slovenia, Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Slovenia and Societe Generale Bank, and he also achieved project cooperation with the World Bank and USAID. Branko Greganović led a team of M&A advisors in the process of establishment of Droga Kolinska Group, and after that, in his capacity as the CFO of the Group he also led the restructuring process of Droga Kolinska Group. Before coming to NLB Banka Belgrade, Branko Greganović led projects of collection of non-performing loans in Hypo Alpe Adria Banka in Croatia from the central bank in Klagenfurt, Austria.
Branko Greganović is a member of the Management Board of the Slovenian Business Club and a member of the Assembly of the Belgrade Chamber of Commerce.
Valeri is Partner with Axxess Capital, a leading private equity firm in South Eastern Europe with invested equity in excess of EUR 250M. Prior to that he was Partner with Bancroft Private Equity in Vienna and Investment Director with the Athens based private equity firm Global Finance. Valeri led and co-led many transactions in various countries and industries across South-Eastern Europe and Turkey. Prior to moving to the Private Equity industry Valeri was running the largest paints & coatings company in Bulgaria (backed by private equity funds) as CEO where he completed a successful turnaround, increasing its market capitalization almost ten times. Valeri also worked for Royal Dutch/Shell, and held various positions within the organisation.
Valeri holds an MSc in Engineering from the Technical University of Sofia. He also attended Management Academy in London and ETP on Management in Delaware University
Investment professional with 15 years of experience in private equity and real estate in CEE region. Investment experience covers start-up investments, investments in real estate development/asset management and large businesses, as well as fund management and investor relations. Currently working as a regional investment manager focusing on investments in infrastructure and specialised manufacturing.
Igor joined the team of CEE Equity Partners after almost 8 years of investment management responsibility within Bluehouse Capital – a very successful regional PERE fund manager focusing on real estate investments (development and asset management). Prior to that Igor worked for 3 years for Erste Bank Group where he was recruited to develop a real estate consulting and brokerage business for its Croatian operations. Igor started his career working in investment banking in Milan, Italy, but very quickly he moved to Croatia to join one of the first PE/VC funds that was operating in Croatia at that time.
Rastko is a Senior Partner specialising in M&A, competition law and business regulation. He advises clients on the most complex antitrust matters, cross-border transactions and business regulation and is ranked by independent directories as the leading competition and M&A lawyer in the country. Rastko has advised clients on the most complex antitrust investigations and the largest M&A deals in the market to date. He focuses particularly on private equity clients and specialises in telecom and FMCG. Rastko was selected as the winner of the 2015 European Emerging Leaders Awards by the M&A Advisor.
Josh Silver has ten years of experience investing in emerging markets NPLs. He currently spearheads the NPL effort for APartners Capital and has in the past 12 months been involved in two of the largest successful NPL transactions in CEE, one of which involved the establishment of a new servicing platform to manage a €400m secured portfolio. He previously led the Portfolio Acquisitions team within the Emerging Markets Trading group of Deutsche Bank and was responsible for creating the bank’s proprietary distressed debt and NPL trading efforts in CEEMEA. Mr. Silver established & managed servicing and investment platforms in Russia, South Africa, Romania, Brazil and Latvia and across the CEEMEA region; as well as supervising the bank’s distressed debt investments in Latin America.
Prior to working at Deutsche Bank, Mr Silver spent 3 years as an attorney at Shearman & Sterling LLC in London and Singapore.

Veronika supports the Digital Serbia Initiative in the mission to help Serbia become one of leading digital economies. One of the challenges she is tackling is the creation of a vibrant tech sector with budding startup and scaleup ecosystems open for investments. To do so, she is building and reinforcing relationship with multiple stakeholders, from investors, government, businesses and institutions to startups, media, researchers and entrepreneurs. Prior to her focus on digital, Veronika worked in management consulting, supporting global and regional clients in banking & insurance, telco, FMCG and transportation industries reach their strategic objectives. Veronika unorthodoxly combines her international experience, MBA education from MIB Trieste and interaction with many senior executives with passion for creative expression and Serbian wine (red, preferably).
Julien Coustaury is the managing partner of Fil Rouge Capital, a VC fund operating in the Balkan region. He has over 20 years of relevant experience in manufacturing and services, much of it at CEO level. He has worked in more than 80 countries across five continents and participated in over $1.7bn of purchase, sale and financing transactions. More recently with his partner, he invested in more than 40 early stage ventures, mainly focusing on B2C software with some HW exception like H20Pal, the first hydration tracker on the market. As part of the founding team of Double Recall, Julien attended YCombinator S11 class. Julien currently serves on the board of Symvaro, H20pal and Europronet. He holds a master’s Degree in Telecom engineering. Julien is an avid wakeboarder and never says no to a good glass of Bordeaux wine.
Nikola Stefanovic has more than 18 years of venture capital/private equity experience. He currently serves as the General Director/Partner of SEAF South Balkan Fund BV and SEAF Impact Fund BV, private equity funds focused on SMEs in the Balkans. Prior to SEAF, he held the Managing Director/Partner position at Academy Funds, a venture capital group in the US. Mr. Stefanović has also served as a lecturer at Guilford College (US), Vietnam University of Commerce (Vietnam), London School of Commerce, Belgrade Banking Academy, Singidunum University (SRB), and the Securities and Exchange Commission (BIH). Furthermore, he has been a member of the Board of Directors for Finera Factoring, Gomex, PC Centar, Logo Holding, A2B Express Delivery, the CEED Serbia Foundation, the Serbian Private Equity Association, AmCham (SRB), and Design Source (US). He has also been a member of the USAID CoP Meetings, World Bank’s Donor Meetings (SRB), Winston-Salem’s Chamber of Commerce Technology Council (US), and an M&A consultant to many companies.
Zoran is Managing Director in Zagrebačka banka, UniCredit, responsible for M&A origination and execution in Bosnia-Herzegovina, Montenegro, Macedonia, Kosovo and Albania. In his 18 years’ professional experience, he advised corporates, private equities and governments on numerous acquisitions and disposals across the Emerging Europe and Central Asia, as well as equity and debt capital markets transactions in Croatia.
He started his investment banking career at Creditanstalt Investmentbank (CA IB) Vienna in 2000, and moved to its Zagreb office in 2004. Within UniCredit, after the merger of CA IB Zagreb into Zagrebačka banka in 2008, he continued in Zagrebačka banka as Head of Capital Markets, and since 2010 as Head of New Markets.
Zoran holds a Dipl.-Ing. degree in Mathematics, as well as postgraduate M.Sc. degree in Economics (Operational Research), both from the University of Zagreb. He is a CFA charterholder.
Vladimir heads BDK’s M&A. He has 15 years of experience working as a transactions lawyer, and has advised on the most prominent M&A deals in Serbia, Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Vladimir earned his LLB from the Faculty of Law of the University of Belgrade in 1996. He is a member of the Belgrade Bar Association and International Bar Association. He is on the list of arbitrators of the Court of Arbitration attached to the Serbian Chamber of Commerce.
Prior to BDK, Vladimir was a partner in the legal practice associated with the Serbian branch of PwC. Vladimir is fluent in Serbian and English.

Lidija Barjaktarovic has a PhD in Economic Sciences in sectors banking and finance. At the University Singidunum in Belgrade she teaches Banking, Risk Management and Corporate Finances (from 2008). She has been Head of Master study programs Business Economics and Public Sector Management since 2014. She used to be Vice-Dean at the Faculty of Business in Belgrade (University Singidunum) in the period of 2012 to 2015.
Professor Barjaktarovic is also a lecturer on different business schools in Republic of Serbia. Furthermore, she is member of organizing and program committee of CFO Forum of Republic of Serbia (from 2011). Moreover, she is member of scientific, organizing and program committee of FINIZ – Finance and Financial Reporting in the Function of Corporate Governance (from 2014). Finally, she has published many articles, especially relating to financing, project finance, cash management and competitiveness of CEE banking sector.
She had banking career in the period from 1998 to 2008. It started in Jugobanka A.D. Belgrade, after which she moved to Societe General Yugoslav Bank a.d. Belgrade, and then to Raiffeisen Bank a.d. Belgrade in order to be promoted to the Head of the Regional Branch Central Serbia. In 2005 she moves to Erste Bank a.d. Novi Sad to become the Director of Corporate Division. At the end of 2007 Erste Group names her to be a member of the Corporate Board and Corporate Working Group on the level of the Erste Holding Vienna.
Elaine Green is Editor - EMEA Bureaus at Mergermarket and is responsible for managing the Bureaus in Europe and Middle East and African (EMEA) as well as being Global Head of Shipping. She has been with the company since its inception in 2000 and is an experienced reporter, editor and manager having worked both within the group and at wide range of other European publications. Her qualifications include a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA).
