Mauro Giorgio Marrano is a senior CEE economist at UniCredit Research. He previously worked in UniCredit Strategy and M&A department coordinating the team focusing on CEE and in UniCredit Research as a UK economist. Before joining UniCredit, he worked as an economist at the European Commission and HM Treasury.
Michal Kedzia, Partner at Enterprise Investors, concentrates on the FMCG, financial services and healthcare sectors. He is also responsible for investments in Slovenia and Croatia. Michal’s most important projects up to date include Dino, Intersport, Nu-Med and X-Trade Brokers. In 2018 he closed two new significant deals in Croatia: Pan-Pek and Studenac. Prior to joining EI in 2007, Michal worked in the mergers and acquisitions team at Ernst & Young (today EY) in Warsaw.
Mr. Karpukhin is a Managing Director at the New York-based asset management firm, The Rohatyn Group (TRG), based in London and making private equity investments across CEE. Mr. Karpukhin has completed and exited investments in many sectors, including pharmaceuticals, retail infrastructure, and consumer. He currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Prestige, the market-leading confectionary manufacturer in Bulgaria, and Chairman of the Advisory Board at Pet Network, a CEE pet care retail group.
Prior to joining TRG, from 2006 to 2013, he was an investment officer at Citi Venture Capital International (CVCI). At CVCI, Mr. Karpukhin led private equity investments throughout the EMEA region and Russia/CIS and served on the Boards of Directors of four portfolio companies. From 2000 until 2006, Mr. Karpukhin was with Booz Allen, a leading global strategy consultancy, based in London, where he led a variety of strategic and operational assignments for global clients in the retail, consumer, telecommunications, and oil & gas sectors.
Mr. Karpukhin holds an MS degree in Mathematics and Artificial Intelligence from Moscow Engineering and Physics Institute and an MBA from Duke University. He is an enthusiastic follower of developments in a broad range of technologies and a keen investor in technology start-ups.
Ivaylo Slavov is a highly qualified entrepreneur and corporate executive specialized both in developing start-up and established organizations. He has more than 20 years of international experience in the fields of Information Technology, Financial Services, IT-Outsourcing, Business Process Outsourcing and Human Resources.
Ivaylo Slavov co-founded BULPROS in April 2010 and for 9 years under his leadership the company grew at a very fast pace and continuously doubled its size, year over year. Currently BULPROS has over 1200 employees in 19 offices across North America and Europe. Its offerings include Industry Digitalization, Cyber Security, Digital Workspace, Cloud and Support Services, Technology Services and Sales Services, with focus on Manufacturing, Professional Services, Telecommunications, Healthcare, Retail, Financial Services and Insurance.
In 2018 Ivaylo Slavov has been confirmed as the new Chairman of the Bulgarian Outsourcing Association. In 2017 and 2018 he was recognized by Deloitte and Manager Magazine as one of the top 10 managers in Bulgaria. He was also selected as a member of the Board of Directors of American Chamber of Commerce in Bulgaria (AmCham).
Mr Secci is a Vice President at J.C. Flowers & Co. Prior to joining the firm in 2013, Mr Secci was an investment banker in the Financial Institutions Group of J.P. Morgan in London.
Mr Secci serves on the Board of Directors of First Bank in Romania (formerly Piraeus Bank Romania) and the Supervisory Board of GroupFinancière CEP in France. Mr Secci played a key role in J.C. Flowers’investments in Acuon Capital (South Korea), Eurovita Assicurazioni (Italy), Interactive Investor (UK), Lunis (Germany), UK General Insurance (UK) and VallBanc (Andorra).
Mr Secci studied at Bocconi University in Milan where he received a bachelor’s degree magna cum laude in Business Administration and a master's degree magna cum laude in Finance.
Franjo Bobinac has wide international experience in various business functions. Mr Bobinac is an accomplished leader with in-depth theoretical and practical knowledge, an extensive comprehension of the consumer products industry and with excellent leadership skills.
Mr Bobinac completed his MBA studies at the Ecole Superieure de Commerce in Paris. During his career, he was Managing Director at Gorenje’s branch office in Paris from 1993 to 1998. After Gorenje’s transformation into a Joint-stock company in 1998, he became a member of the Management Board of Gorenje, d. d. in charge of sales and marketing for the following 5 years. In 2003, he was for the first time appointed President of the Management Board of Gorenje, function that he performed until March 2019. In 2018 he was appointed also Vice President for Marketing of Hisense International Co. Ltd. and as an Honorary Consul of Monaco.
Mr Bobinac is also President of the Handball Association of Slovenia and a member of the Supervisory Board of the IEDC Bled School of Management. He is also a member of European Trilateral Commission and occasionally lectures at various institutions at home and abroad. Mr Bobinac was awarded the decoration of Knight of national order of merit of the Republic of France. He received the award of the Chamber of Commerce of Slovenia for exceptional economic achievements in the year 2009 and the medal of Janez Vajkard Valvasor for economists granted by the Jožef Stefan International Postgraduate School.
Branimir Muidža is the General Manager of HeidelbergCement Group in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia, General Manager of Tvornica cementa Kakanj, Director of Dunav Drava Cement Zagreb and TBG Beton Zagreb, as well as the Prokurist of TBG BH in BiH.
Muidža is also a licenced broker agent for trading securities in Croatia.
Muidža has successfully completed various career and management development programs organized by the Business School St. Gallen – London (Great Britain), Harvard – Boston (USA), Management Centre Europe – Brussels (Belgium) and Barcelona (Spain); and within HeidelbergCement Group he has completed the Senior Management Development Program delivered by INSEAD – Paris (France), DUKE Corporate Education – Frankfurt (Germany), the CEE Management Development Program, and the HC Executive Development Program.
He has been the Chairman of the Foreign Investment Council in BiH since 2011, the Chairman of the Advisory Board of the University of Sarajevo - Faculty of Economics, a member of the Managing Board of FIPA BiH (the Foreign Investment Promotion Agency), a Board Member of the Association for the promotion of German – Bosnian and Herzegovinian business affairs - AHK, and a member of the Managing Board of the Chamber of Commerce of Zenica-Doboj Canton.
On several occasions he was elected a manager of the year in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia.
The company he has been leading for 15 years, Tvornica cementa Kakanj, has been awarded numerous prestigious recognition for business, social responsibility, creditworthiness, and environmental protection.
Hebert Pock is a partner and managing director of BDO Consulting GmbH with over 20 years of experience. His main experience focuses on business consultancy, especially in the areas of organizational development and project management, strategy consulting, business planning, market and competitor analysis, innovation and R&D management. Furthermore, he has deep knowledge in corporate finance, funding and financing due to many years of experience as founder and CEO of a consulting company. He is a member of the advisory board of various start-up companies.
Herbert is a graduate engineer of mechanical engineering and business economics of the Graz University of Technology.
Viktoria is a Principal at Mid Europa Partners. She is focused on executing and monitoring investments and covers the Czech and Slovak markets from an origination perspective. Since joining Mid Europa in 2010, Viktoria has been involved in numerous investments including SBB/Telemach, Alpha Medical, Energy 21, Kent, Diagnostyka, Walmark and Regina Maria. Prior to Mid Europa, Viktoria worked in the Consumer & Retail M&A department at J.P. Morgan in London. She holds a Masters in International Finance from Columbia University, New York and Masters in Finance and Strategy from Sciences Po Paris.
Uroš Ćamilović has been leading the business advisory practice of BDO Serbia for more than 10 years. His main experience is in Mergers & Acquisitions, Cross-border Due Diligence services, Valuation and Privatization. Uroš’s primary focus has been on banking and financial services, tourism, mining & metal processing and telecommunication business, both in Serbia and the region, where he and his team executed various renowned projects. In 2018, he headed the team which advised the Government of the Republic of Serbia in the privatization of a copper mining and smelting complex, which successfully closed in December 2018 and where EV exceeded USD 800 million, with committed investments of over USD 1.2 billion.
In addition, since 2012 Uroš has been serving as an independent member of the board of directors and a president of the audit committee of Philip Morris Operations a.d. in Serbia.
Uroš holds a BSc in International Securities, Investment and Banking from the University of Reading and an MPhil in Finance from University of Cambridge.
Richard Clegg is a partner at Wolf Theiss in Sofia whose practice includes all areas of corporate & financing transactions. His career experience includes advising on the development of internationally significant road and rail infrastructure; telecom and technology acquisitions and financings; and a wide range of corporate M&A and joint ventures in Eastern Europe and internationally in the FMCG, automotive and industrial sectors. Richard is a Solicitor of England & Wales and was educated at the Manchester Grammar School, University College London, and INSEAD.
Igor Stebernak graduated from the University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Electrical Engineering and obtained Executive MBA degree from Clemson University, South Carolina, USA.
In his career he worked most of the time in financial sector – in SKB bank, Societe Generale Group and as a Board Member in Triglav insurance and Abanka. His current position is Member of the Management Board of Petrol, the biggest energy company in Slovenia. He is responsible for finance, accounting, controlling, IT, BI, risk management, project management and back office. As a member of the Association of Supervisors of Slovenia he was a Member of Supervisory Boards in several companies.
Léah Schlesinger is a corporate attorney with more than twenty-five years’ experience, concentrating in M&A, corporate governance and commercial law. Léah has represented clients in numerous industries, including internet technology, health care, airline, energy, financial institutions, insurance and general manufacturing. Léah’s clients have included large multi-national corporations, entrepreneurs and startups, as well as private equity and venture capital firms. Since 2015, Léah has been in-house M&A counsel at Flex Ltd., where she has led many global acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures and spin-offs.
Prior to going in-house, Léah practised in large global law firms, including a decade in the M&A group at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP in New York. Léah holds a law degree and an A.B. in economics from the University of Chicago. Before becoming a lawyer, Léah was an economist in the Macroeconomic Group of the econometrics firm Data Resources Inc.
Luiz Rossato was appointed Executive Vice President and Head of Corporate Development in October 2017. Luiz joined Magnesita Refratarios in 2008 and was the Vice President of Legal, M&A and Institutional Relations, as well as responsible for Corporate Communication, being a member of the Executive Committee of Magnesita Refratários from 2012 until 2017. He graduated in law at Mackenzie Presbyterian University, in Brazil. He worked in renowned law firms in Brazil, including Mattos Filho, Veiga Filho, Marrey Jr. and Quiroga Advogados. He was also a corporate lawyer and company secretary at Abyara Real Estate Planning until the beginning of 2008. In 2012 Luiz was received the General Counsel of the Year – Latin America Award by the International Law Office – ILO, and in 2013 he attended the Advanced Management Program at Wharton University in the United States.
Lada Tedeschi Fiorio heads an organizational unit of Atlantic Grupa which defines the future direction of the company's development, recognizing opportunities and encouraging growth through strategic analysis and development of various strategic models including acquisitions, business partnerships and capital investments. Lada has been co-driving the development of Atlantic Grupa for the last 20 years, and has left her mark on every one of the company's strategic milestones, toname only the pivotal amongst them would be enough - the acquisition of Cedevita in 2001 and evolving from a renown distributor to a prominent producer,penetrating the West with the first acquisition in Germany (Multipower) by a private company from Croatia in 2005, and finally Atlantic's landmark acquisition of Droga Kolinska in 2010, doubling the company in all parameters.
Lada began her career in Atlantic in 1997 as the Deputy Director forFinance. As Vice President for Investor Relations and Business Development, she had an important role in negotiations with potential investors during all of Atlantic's acquisitions as well as in the process of initial public offering(IPO) in 2007. As Atlantic Grupa was transformed into a joint stock company, she was appointed Vice president of the Supervisory Board, also heading the board's Investment Committee. Before joining Atlantic, she acquired business experience in multinational companies, Wrigley in Germany and Mars Masterfoods in the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Poland and the United Arab Emirates. She received her bachelor’s degree in economics at Universita' commerciale L.Bocconi in Milan and continued her professional specialisation at the LondonBusiness School.
Luka Bjekovic is in charge of Mergers and Acquisitions for one of the largest corporate groups in SEE region – Agri Europe Cyprus Limited (www.agrieurope.com.cy). During more than seven years of his work in the group, he has been involved, led and therefore gained extensive and wide experience in numerous M&A transactions, projects and ventures, from their inception up until closing and post-integration. Also, throughout these M&A deals and projects as well as within regular activities of the group, he has been participating in structuring and executing large funding transactions in cooperation with domestic commercial banks, international financial institutions and all other relevant business partners.
Additionally, he has been supporting and advising Fintel Energia SpA in its ventures on Serbian market from the very beginning. Therefore, he has contributed significantly to structuring, financial closing and execution of all Fintel Energia AD`s wind projects in Serbia.
He graduated from undergraduate and master studies at the Faculty of Economics in Belgrade, and as one of the top students in his class, began his career as a teaching assistant at the Faculty of Economics at the Department of Business Economics and Management.
He is a regular participant and attendee of large number of seminars and conferences both in Serbia and abroad.
Horst Ebhardt, Partner and Head of the Practice Group Corporate / M&A at Wolf Theiss, specializes in complex cross-border M&A transactions, privatizations and restructurings in Austria and throughout the CEE/SEE region. He regularly advises clients from a broad range of industries, including financial institutions, life sciences and private equity, on corporate finance and governance matters. Over the last 12 years, Horst has served as the lead attorney on approximately 90 transactions, several involving a value of more than EUR 1 billion. In addition to his practice, Horst teaches an M&A program at the law school of the University of Vienna. He is admitted in Austria and holds an LL.M. degree from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
Michal is an Investment Director at KKCG, a Prague-based financial group with EUR 3 bn+ under management. He oversees the firm’s investments in the technology space where he currently focuses on building-up a Czech-Slovak IT services market leader. On the VC front, Michal set-up Springtide Ventures (EUR 60 mn in-house venture fund focusing on CEE and Israel) and co-invests with JAZZ Venture Partners (USD 400 mn Silicon Valley-based fund focusing on human performance technology). Michal has degrees from the London Business School and Prague School of Economics.
Senior member of the Group Legal team reporting to the General Counsel and Director of Strategy of Coca-Cola HBC AG (CCHBC), a leading bottler of The Coca-Cola Company based in Zug, Switzerland. CCHBC is an FTSE 100 company with a premium listing on the LSE and a secondary listing on the ATHEX with a market capitalization of approximately 10bln GBP and a sales volume of more than 2 billion unit cases.

Markus Bruckmüller is the Co-Managing Partner of the firm's office in Slovenia. He is specialized in corporate/M&A, banking & finance and real estate. His experience includes advising on numerous large-scale M&A transactions, cross-border banking and finance projects, and real estate transactions. He regularly holds internal and external lectures on aspects of M&A transactions and restructurings, for example at the Wolf Theiss School of Excellence and for the Ljubljana Faculty of Law.
Markus is admitted to the bar in both Austria and Slovenia.
Mr Muzyczyszyn joined Innova in 2008. He spent the previous three years as a Director of Darby Private Equity running the Polish office. His responsibilities included mezzanine financings and private equity investments across multiple sectors and countries in CEE. Prior to joining Darby, he spent over eight years in total with Allianz Specialized Investments, where he was part of a team managing the Emerging Europe Fund.
Mr Muzyczyszyn’s chief responsibilities include leading the Portfolio function which oversees the development process forInnova’s investments. He is also engaged in coordinating the financing & debt raising for new investments and for portfolio companies. He has co-led investments in Meritum Bank, ExpanderAdvisors, Neomedic, Bakalland/Delecta and OSHEE.
Mr Muzyczyszyn holds a Master’s Degree (Distinction)in Law from the University of Warsaw and an MBA from Cass Business School in London. Leszek is a President of the Polish Private Equity Association.
Mr. Andrea Moneta is Senior Advisor Italy and Operating Partner FS for Apollo.
Before joining Apollo he worked, inter alia, as Divisional CEO and Group CFO in leading financial service groups, including Aviva and UniCredit, and served as Head of Strategic Planning at the ECB.
He has held board positions in more than 35 listed and non-listed companies across 15 countries in US, Western Europe, CEE, CIS, Turkey and the Middle East.
John McNaughton is involved in international banking business and mergers and acquisitions for the Expobank Group. He is currently sitting on the Board of Directors of Expobank Russia (formerly Barclays Bank), Expobank Czech (formerly LBBW) and Expobank Serbia (formerly Marfin Bank). Expobank is currently seeking to expand its banking franchise throughout Europe and the CIS through acquisitions. Mr McNaughton has been with the group since 1997.
Csaba is the Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Day One Capital. As the COO, Csaba oversees the daily operations of Day One and therefore has played an integral role in the structuring, negotiation and consummation of all Day One investments to date. His current portfolio includes Optoforce (now merged to OnRobot), Oradian, Commsignia, Nowtechnologies, Kinestica, Talk-a-Bot and AImotive. As the former Minister of Economy in Hungary, a senior regulatory expert in the National Bank of Hungary and in the Diplomatic Mission of Hungary to the OECD, Csaba brings over 15 years of regulatory and financial experience, a strategic mindset and a wide international network. Csaba holds a Diploma in Law from the Eotvos Lorand University, Budapest, Hungary.

Mr. Mäki is the Managing Partner of 3TS and is primarily responsible for general management of 3TS. Previously, Mr. Mäki was the Managing Partner of Red Catalyst Ltd., a strategic business development consultancy and an investment boutique. He has also been an entrepreneur and executive in management consulting and with advertising agencies across Central and Eastern Europe and in Finland. A true European Mr. Mäki speaks five languages and has studied at Helsinki University of Technology, IESE Business School in Barcelona, Universidad Complutense in Madrid and Wirschaftsuniversität in Vienna.
Brian Wardrop has been originating, executing, monitoring and exiting private equity investments in Central and Eastern Europe ("CEE") since 1997.
Mr. Wardrop is Managing Partner of ARX Equity Partners, which is a private equity firm with a 20-year track record supporting the growth and development of mid-sized companies in select Central European countries. With more than € 300 million raised in four funds, ARX has become a leading private equity firm in its segment in the Central European region.
Prior to joining ARX, Mr. Wardrop was a Principal and head of the Prague office with sector specialist private equity firm, Baring Communications Equity (Emerging Europe).
Mr. Wardrop holds a Master’s degree from Boston University and a Bachelor’s degree from Bishop’s University. He is also a graduate of the Owner/President Program at Harvard Business School.
Mr. Wardrop is also an active supporter of the non-profit social enterprise sector via his roles as a board member of NESst (which is a non-profit organization focused on developing sustainable social enterprises in emerging market economies), and as a member of the investment committee of Tilia Impact Ventures (which is the first fund in the Czech Republic investing in social enterprises).
Catherine Ford is the Editor-at-Large for the events division of Acuris. She is a consultant editor to event programmes, and engaged in the development of timely editorial content for global corporate finance, M&A and capital markets related conferences and events. She routinely moderates discussion panels at conferences across the region. She has worked for Acuris since early 2002, holding a number of senior editorial roles in the company’s European, US and Asia-Pacific head offices.
Emma-Victoria reports on M&A activity in the DACH region for Mergermarket. Previously she has worked for Bloomberg in Frankfurt, The Daily Telegraph in London, Deutsche Presse Agentur (dpa) in Berlin, and Falter Verlag in Vienna. She has a Masters in German Literature from Oxford University.
Joao Grando is Mergermarket’s Private Equity Editor, EMEA. He has been a journalist covering industrials and private equity-related M&A across Europe with Mergermarket since 2015.
