A letter from our chairman, Ron Given

It is my great pleasure to welcome you to this year’s CEE M&A and Private Equity Forum which will take place on October 3-4, 2018 at the InterContinental Hotel in Warsaw. The yearly Forum has deservedly become a seminal, must-attend event in our industry. Wolf Theiss is pleased to continue its sponsoring role for the 9th year and I am delighted to continue my chairmanship role for the 5th successive year.

With Mergermarket and our other very committed sponsors, including Noerr, AIG, and Willis Towers Watson, a very relevant and timely program has been put together that will surely prove to be a productive use of your time.

Even with the uncertainties being played out on a daily basis on the global political and economic stage, the 2018 M&A market remains brisk in our region with acquirers who experienced very full funding rounds in 2017. A theme throughout the program will be expectations for the immediate and longer term future as well as the navigation of an increasingly complex risk environment. Our panels will thoroughly explore the current funding environment and how the smart money is responding to structuring challenges being imposed upon it, including by trends in tax legislation. Successfully competing in a crowded market with today's valuations will be examined with special attention being paid to the TMT and consumer sectors and the role being taken by secondary buy-outs. Opportunities and challenges with start-ups and Chinese investors will be discussed along with lessons on best transactional practices of the leaders of our industry, including the increasing use of insurance tools. The increasingly important topic of gender diversity in private equity will also be covered.

Please also be sure to calendar and continue your networking at the Warsaw Skyline Cocktail Reception at the Wolf Theiss offices starting at 7:00 p.m. the evening of the first day of the Forum, October 3rd.

We look forward to another terrific Forum and know that your attendance and participation will help make it so.

All the best,

Ron Given, Partner, Wolf Theiss
