Richard has extensive experience in all areas of mergers and acquisitions and Private Equity. He is Co-Head of the Global Corporate and M&A Team and is a member of the TMT and Healthcare Groups.
Richard's experience includes;
- Advising Tinopolis plc on its £45m acquisition by way of scheme of arrangement by Vitruvian Partners;
- Acting for Gresham LLP and newco on the £110m acquisition of Betts Global Limited, a manufacturer of toothpaste tubes with operations in 11 jurisdictions (including the US, Brazil, Mexico, China, Indonesia, Russia, Poland, Switzerland and South Africa);
- Acting for Hutton Collins on the £260m secondary buyout of Healthcare at Home;
- Acting for management and newco on the £410m secondary buyout of Apollo Group funded by BOSIF;
- Acting for management in connection with the £100m public to private of SHL Group plc;
- The acquisition of Airclaims Ltd - a business operating in nine jurisdictions acting for LDC and newco; acting for H&T Group plc in relation to the exit by Rutland Partners by way of £54m IPO on AIM market;
- Acting for Hutton Collins in its co-investment in the £155m Electra led secondary buyout of Travelsphere;
- Acting for Baird Capital Partners Europe on the buyouts of Aston Carter and Paddock Fabrications;
- Acting for management and newco on the acquisition of IDIS Ltd - a medical distribution business operating principally in the UK, France and Germany.

Michel is the Lead Partner of Operational Transaction Services team in EY UK&I. Michel has over 27 years’ experience of combined consulting, transaction and industry experience and has previously held executive positions in Accenture, Rabobank, Visa and Fujitsu. Michel’s key area of focus has been around operational diligence, carve-outs, post merger integration and operational restructuring for private equity and corporate clients. Michel has a MBA from University of Bradford (with distinction), an MA degree in Political Sciences from Radboud University of Nijmegen and he is also a senior visiting fellow of the Cass Business School.
Jonathan Hughes is VP of Sales, UK and Ireland at Datasite (formerly Merrill Corporation).
In his role, he manages a team responsible for Datasite’s Irish coverage and key UK corporate and legal advisory firms, with enhanced coverage of UK clients outside of London. He is based in London.
Jon has been driving sales growth in the UK, Ireland, and the Benelux and Nordic territories with Datasite since 2010. From 2008-2010, Jonathan was an account manager for Merrill Corporation’s Legal Solutions division, where he specialised in the provision of real-time and daily court reporting, electronic presentation of evidence, and litigation support/electronic disclosure.
Jon holds a BA (Hons) in History from Lancaster University.
