Mr. Akai joined Daiwa Securities in 1984 and has been engaged in the M&A advisory business for most of his professional career. He possesses a wealth of experience advising clients on numerous cross-border and domestic transactions, including a number of well-known mega deals and has also contributed to building up the global M&A advisory network of Daiwa. From April 2009 to September 2011, he was Chairman of Daiwa Capital Markets Singapore, where he was responsible for all of Asia.
Has an MBA from the University of Virginia Darden School of Business, and a BA in Law from Kobe University.

Joined Renesas in 2015, leading direct-reporting and cross-functional teams responsible for M&A transactions, post-merger integrations (PMI), business alliances and corporate level restructuring projects. Prior to Renesas, served as Head of Business Development of Rohm Co., Ltd., executed strategic projects including M&A and divestitures, led PMI initiatives of an acquired company in the U.S. as Business Development and Human Resources Director. Earned B.A. in Law from Keio University, and Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Cornell University, graduated with distinction.

Naoko Shimura is a partner at Nishimura & Asahi specializing in the areas of Corporate/M&A. She handles various types of M&A, such as global/domestic acquisitions and alliances, joint venture transactions, and group reorganization. She also has extensive experience providing strategic advice on various legal issues commonly faced by corporate clients, including those relating to corporate governance, compliance, commercial contracts/transactions, employment, and crisis management.
Among other accolades, she has been recognized as one of the leading lawyers in the area of Corporate/M&A in Chambers Asia-Pacific and Chambers Global - The World’s Leading Lawyers for Business, and was recommended by the Best Lawyers in Japan (Corporate and M&A).

Hideyuki has broad experience of corporate finance practices especially cross-border M&As.
He led major Japanese companies‘ overseas acquisitions, multinational companies‘ investments into Japan, industry consolidation transactions as well as tailor-made solutions for important corporate matters. His diverse industry experience ranges from technologies, consumer products, financial services, business services, auto parts, utilities& energy, real estate to private equity.
Before joining KPMG in 2016, being a senior member at Frontier Management Inc., an independent advisory firm based in Japan, he built and led an Asia-Japan cross border M&A team and created overseas partner networks.
From 2002 to 2013, he was an investment banker at UBS in Tokyo and New York, mainly covering major financial institution clients as well as multinational clients.
Before 2002, he was a senior sell-side research analyst at Goldman Sachs in Japan after he started a professional career at Mizuho Bank.

Yoichiro Shimizu is responsible for Datasite’s business development strategies and growth in Japan, as well as management of the local team.
He has more than 20 years’ experience in IT solution sales with major IT consulting firms and system integrators (SI). Shimizu began his career as a sales and marketing executive in New York to develop new opportunities for finance, high tech, automotive, manufacturing, and other verticals where he built strong and long-term relationships with channel accounts, SI partners, and C-level executives.
With extensive knowledge of country risk management and macroeconomics, Shimizu has worked with German, UK and US companies based in Japan. He also managed a startup company as CEO for more than 9 years and lead it to profitability.
