How to enter the Mergermarket Middle East Awards 2019

The Middle East awards return in 2019, recognising excellence in M&A advisory. Find out how the process works.

Who is eligible?

The Middle East awards are open to all law firms and financial advisors acting on Middle East and North Africa transactions. Whether you are an international M&A law firm, domestic legal adviser, M&A investment bank or a independent corporate finance house, we invite you to make an entry for your contribution to serving your clients. This is your chance to show to the industry how you have added value to clients in order to get deals over the line.

Any bookrunner/arranger is entitled to enter the DCM categories.

How do I enter?

The categories are organised around major sectors for M&A activity in the Middle East & North Africa and the most significant debt capital markets instruments. You can enter up to three categories by completing the online entry forms. Nominations must be received by 26th February 2019. The entry is a written pitch of approx. 300 words. We cannot accept any accompanying pitchbooks or presentations. The period under consideration is 1 January 2018 - 31 December 2018 for announced deals. Please note that announced deals which are yet to complete are valid. All entries are treated in confidence but please make clear in your entry any information which has been previously undisclosed.

What are the judges looking for?

In your online entry, outline your track record in the industry during the qualifying time period, provide details around landmark transactions and your contribution to helping get deals over the line.

An independent judging panel will vote for the winners. In addition to providing the entries, we also give each judge a data summary for each category, including top deals and advisory league tables. This gives them a complementary viewpoint on each entry. They are looking for examples of the value-added to clients on deals including the complexity, significance and execution of transactions as well as innovation and deal structuring.

We are grateful to all of the judges for devoting their time to the process.

When is awards night?

The awards ceremony will be held on 10 April 2019.  Make sure to book your calendars for this can’t-miss event. And remember to nominate yourselves and your peers to be in with a chance of taking home a prize on the night.
