White & Case’s study on leveraged loans and high-yield bonds finds an increasingly welcoming debt market for corporates
Leveraged loan and high-yield bond markets in Europe hit their highest levels in years in 2014, as corporates and sponsors took advantage of favourable terms and conditions to take on debt. In Q2 2014 alone €45bn-worth of leveraged loans were issued, the highest for the previous three years. And while values and volumes saw dips in H2, these loans totaled €116bn for the whole of 2014, while high yield bond values in Europe hit €97bn. These are the highest figures in the last three years.
