On June 4, Mergermarket, in collaboration with Datasite, hosted a panel discussion of senior legal and financial advisors, as well as private equity managers, to explore the impact that COVID-19 has had on Brazil’s M&A and ECM industries. 

Joining our moderator, Thiago Barrozo, Latin America editor for Mergermarket, were Vanessa Fiusa, Partner at Mattos Filho, Cristiano Guimaraes, Head of Investment Banking at Itau BBA; Piero Minardi, Managing Director and Head of Brazil at Warburg Pincus, Jorge Planet Mira, Head of Latin America at Datasite and Wilson Rosa, Managing Director at Advent International.

As Latin America’s biggest economy continues to navigate through public health and economic crisis, the panellists provided insights on the sectors most likely to weather the coronavirus downturn and even shine in post-COVID-19 world like healthcare and education.

The panel also discussed the fundamentals that have had the local stock exchange B3 to hit a record high in early 2020 and analyzed what remains in place.
