Giovanni is Managing Director of goetzpartners’ Italian office, based in Milan.
As a strategy advisor with more than 26 years of experience in management consulting, Giovanni addresses issues such as corporate strategy development, business due diligence, post-acquisition support, digital transformation, market entry strategy, commercial excellence, customer value management, pricing, product innovation.
In the M&A sector he partners with the most prominent private equity houses and financial investors helping them to make the right investment decisions and enhance value creation.
Prior to goetzpartners, he worked in EY as Head of Commercial Advisory Services and in L.E.K. Consulting as Partner and Managing Director of the Italian office.
Massimo Benedetti is the Deals leader in PwC Italy. He has been involved in numerous Italian and cross border transactions in a variety of industrial sectors after gaining international experience through a secondment in the Minneapolis and San Jose offices of USA.
Some of his largest projects included the restructuring of the combined group in connection with the acquisition of Pirelli by ChemChina, the disposal of the cable business of Pirelli, the disposal of Rinascente, the acquisition of AOL Germany by Telecom Italia, the support to Swisscom in the acquisition of Fastweb, the acquisition of Metroweb by Stirling Square, the acquisition of Socotherm by Shawcor, the disposal of Kamps Gmbh and Lieken AG by Barilla, the disposal of EON’s Italian assets.
Massimo is a certified chartered accountant (Dottore Commercialista) and a certified auditor (Revisore Contabile) in Italy.
He developed in the past years an effective approach and coordination to support the Far East investors who interested in the Italian market.
He is also the leader of China Business Group in PwC Italia.
Marianna Vintiadis is Kroll’s Head of Southern Europe. A Cambridge-trained economist with experience in policy making and analysis, she works on business intelligence and complex investigations. Marianna has successfully developed Kroll’s client base which today includes Italy’s largest corporations and financial institutions as well as its leading law firms. She has also opened Kroll’s services to the Italian SME market, which forms the backbone of the Italian economy. Marianna is currently working on the development of the cyber market in Southern Europe.
Emanuela joined PwC Transaction Services in 2001 and is partner since 2010.
Emanuela dedicates most of her time to private equity houses and has led numerous buy side and sell-side engagements for pan-European and Italian private equity houses, covering various industry segments. Since 2015 Emanuela is responsible of the Italian Deals Retail & Consumer team.
Prior to joining PwC, Emanuela spent 5 years working in a primary audit firm. Emanuela graduated in Economics from the Ca’ Foscari University of Venice and is an Italian Chartered Auditor.
Nick joined PwC in 1999, working in the PwC Transaction Services Group in Milan.. Since 2008 Nicola is Partner of the PwC Strategy Group in Italy within PricewaterhouseCoopers Advisory – Deals. Nick is the IP Advisory Leader and responsible of Business Development in the Deals Area in Italy from 2013.
Prior to joining PwC, Nick worked with one of major consulting house in Italy and USA. Nick has led as Project Leader assignments in Italy and Europe in all key industries for major clients in large consulting assignments relating to commercial due diligence,acquisition business plan and strategic review of major M&A and IPO processes in the private sector for Corporate and Private Equity clients in Italy and Europe; as well in strategic and business planning projects for major corporations in Italy and Europe.
Fabio Lorenzo Sattin is Executive Chairman and Founding Partner of Private Equity Partners Spa and has more than 25 years of operational experience in the Private Equity industry both in Italy and abroad. He is Senior Contract Professor in Private Equity and Venture Capital at Luigi Bocconi University in Milan, and was Vice President and Managing Director at Chase Investment Bank (now JP Morgan), operating in New York, London and Milan. He is member of the General Council of Private Equity of the Italian Private Equity, Venture Capital and Private Debt Association (A.I.F.I.), of the Innovation Board of the Ca’ Foscari University Foundation in Venice, of the Scientific Committee of the Ca’ Foscari International College and of the Observatory on Public Private Partnerships of Bocconi University. He has been Chairman of EVCA (European Private Equity and Venture Capital Association, now Invest Europe) and has covered several board member and chairmanship positions in national and international companies and institutions also on behalf of the World Bank and the EBRD. Graduated with honours in Business Economy at the University Ca’ Foscari in Venice, he has written a considerable number of publications regarding Private Equity, Finance and Business Economy.
Alessandra leads the European operation of Dealreporter. She has been in financial journalism for over 10 years having covered large scale of M&A deals across different sectors and regions.
Prior to this post, Alessandra was deputy editor for Dealreporter Europe and Head of Italian coverage where she coordinated all coverage on the market.
Alessandra's team provides intelligence for the equity and fixed income markets that is tailored to hedge funds, proprietary trading desks, security lending, ECM syndicate desks and institutional fund managers.
In addition to managing Mergermarket’s global team of journalists, Giovanni’s responsibilities include seeking new growth areas, moderating and speaking at M&A events and hiring new talent. He also comments regularly about the markets on TV and gives academic lectures. Giovanni joined Mergermarket in 2001 and has held a number of positions within the company, including Frankfurt Bureau Chief, Italian Correspondent, telecommunications, leisure and media reporter and research analyst. He is based in London.
Eugenio Morpurgo is Chief Executive Officer and founding partner of Fineurop Soditic S.p.A. He is also a board member of Fineurop S.p.A., Emisys Capital S.G.R.p.A., Fineurop Investment opportunities Spa, Soditic Ltd London and Chairman of Fineurop Partecipazioni S.p.A.
Since July 2017, he is member of the Board of the newly created SPACnamed SprintItaly.
In March 1984, he graduated cum laude at the Bocconi University in Milan (Degree in Economia Aziendale).
He started his career in 1985 at the financial group Matuschka in Munich in 1985 before moving to Deutsche Bank in 1987 where he worked in the corporate finance and capital markets areas in London, Frankfurt and Milan.
From 1993 to 1998 he was Head of M&A and Privatisations at SOPAF, a private financial group listed on Milan Stock Exchange.
In April 1998, Eugenio along with Fineurop and Soditic, founded in Milan Fineurop Soditic Spa, independent corporate finance boutique, active in M&A and debt advisory for family owned companies, private equity funds and multinationals.
From 2006 to 2014, Eugenio has been Professor at LIUC, University Carlo Cattaneo of Castellanza, for the Master in Merchant Banking.
Since 2015, he is Teaching Fellow at the University Bocconi, as a Professor in Investment banking (CLEFIN).
He is also member of the working group “Why not Italy?” and of the Jury of the yearly “M&A award”.
Vincenzo lavora nel mondo del brokeraggio assicurativo da oltre 20 anni. Ha lavorato per 7 anni ai Lloyd’s di Londra per poi cominciare a lavorare in Aon presso l’ufficio di Milano. Attualmente è responsabile in Aon S.p.A. della Specialty Financial Lines, che si occupa di varie linee di business, tra cui: “Directors” and “Officers” Liability, Responsabilità Civile Professionale, Cyber, coperture specifiche per le aziende che si quotano in borsa (POSI) e Bankers’ Blanket Bonds (BBB) per Istituzioni finanziarie. Manager of the AIG M&A Insurance Group for Southern European countries, Maria José joined AIG M&A insurance group over 10 years ago.
Based in Madrid, she previously led AIG M&A Insurance Group business in different areas and countries within EMEA, and contributed to the development of the M&A Insurance market in LATAM. She has particular expertise in Southern Europe M&A markets, including private equity, financial investors and corporations activity as well as real estate transactions.
Before joining AIG M&A Insurance Group, María José practiced over 7 years in Magic Circle law firms in the corporate, M&A practice, with a particular focus on private equity investments and divestments. She has a Bachelor of Laws from the Universidad Pontificia Comillas (ICADE) in Madrid and a LLM (Master’s degree of Law) from the Instituto de Empresa in Madrid.
