Felix Brill is CEO and founding partner of Wellershoff & Partners, a boutique consultancy focusing on economics and financial markets based in Zurich. He specializes in global macro analysis and macro driven, dynamic asset allocation strategies. He studied at the University of St. Gallen and the University of Bern, where he got his PhD in economics, and also at the Stockholm School of Economics. After his studies, he worked at UBS, where he was lead analyst for the Swiss economy. Felix regularly lectures at the ETH Zurich and the Swiss Finance Institute.
Jacques Essinger was appointed CEO of Symetis in 2004, and the company's turnaround to develop and establish Symetis's ACURATE technology platform. He started his career as R&D director of a US-based CT scan image processing company, then co-founded and became CEO of a Swiss orthopedics company, and was subsequently appointed general manager of a US surgical tool company. In 1997 he was appointed CEO of Modex Therapeutics, which he led through a number of VC financing rounds, an IPO on the Swiss Exchange in 2000, a merger with Netherlands-based IsoTis in 2002, and the acquisition of US-based Gensci Orthobiologics in 2003. Dr. Essinger holds an MS degree in Physics, and a PhD in Biomechanics from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne.

Before joining Alantra in 2000, Martin worked for 6 years in New York, initially for UBS and then for Bankers Trust/Deutsche Bank. Martin started his career in M&A for UBS in 1990. During this period, he was also on assignment for the German privatisation agency Treuhandanstalt in Berlin, heading its food companies division. Matthias Staehelin is primarily involved in transactions in the life sciences and IT industries; he regularly advises on the sale and purchase of companies (M&A), financing through investors (private equity and venture capital), licensing and collaboration agreements (including joint ventures), introductions to the stock exchange (IPOs) and restructuring. Matthias knows the life sciences industry well from many years of working with companies, investors and founders, and is the initiator of the Life Sciences Prize and a Board member of the BioValley Business Angels Club (BioBAC) and BioValley Basel. He publishes and lectures on corporate law, employee options, debt collection and bankruptcy. Matthias has studied in Halifax (Canada), Basel, Bruges (European College) and Freiburg i.B. (graduate college). He is also a notary public in Basel-City and Basel-Country.

Dr. Alexander Friedrich serves as a Partner at Quadriga Capital Beteiligungsberatung GmbH. He heads Quadriga Capital's service sector group and led the investments in DOREA Familie and GBA Laborgruppe, inclusive all respective add-ons. Before joining Quadriga Capital in 2015, he was a partner at Gilde Buy Out Partners in Zurich. Previously, he served in the leverage finance department of The Royal Bank of Scotland.
Dr Michael Petersen is co-founder and managing partner of Cross Equity Partners AG, a Swiss private equity firm with the mission to support the sustainable development of mid-sized companies in Switzerland, Germany and Austria through equity capital, industrial expertise and an extensive relationship network – amongst others in the context of succession of family-owned businesses and corporate spin-offs. Before that, he was co-founder and managing partner of 3i Switzerland AG, a national affiliate of the international Private Equity group 3i plc.
Prior to his activities in these two Private Equity companies, Michael Petersen was working in the corporate finance/investment banking arena for several years, amongst others as member of the executive management of an international mergers & acquisitions company.
He has degrees in business administration from the Universities of Hamburg and St.Gallen. He is married and has three children.
Gregor Greber, 1967, has over 25 years of Swiss Equities know-how from all different angles. Before founding VERAISON Capital AG in 2014, he was the founder and previous owner of zCapital which he sold in 2014 in a MBO. zCapital manages over CHF 1 bn. Swiss Equities assets in two different long-only funds. He co-founded zRating a Corporate Governance proxy-service provider which he sold to Inrate AG. He is regarded as a well-known specialist in Swiss Equities having managed different functions in Corporate Finance (as head at Bank am Bellevue), Swiss Equities head at Lombard Odier and at Deutsche Bank, as well as institutional sales and research with UBS and Julius Bär. Gregor has a master of business economics at KSZ. He is married and father of three children.
Patrick joined Alcentra in 2013 as a senior member of the Direct Lending team. Patrick is responsible for sourcing and execution of private debt investments with a focus on German speaking Europe. Before joining Alcentra he worked at Beechbrook Capital a midmarket Mezzanine Fund. Prior to that Patrick worked at Citi Private Equity and in Credit Suisse’s investment banking division. Patrick graduated from Cass Business School with a BSc. in Business Studies in 2004.
Marinus Schmitt is Partner at Ufenau Capital Partners and joined in 2006. Until 2010 Marinus Schmitt was building up the Ufenau private investor group and afterwards he was setting up the Ufenau funds. He is responsible for deal-sourcing and deal execution, especially debt financing and support of portfolio companies. He serves as board member of several portfolio companies and further supervises the funds as CFO. Before Marinus Schmitt worked at Quarton International in Zurich - a leading M&A boutique with a focus on small and medium-sized companies in the D/A/CH-region. Marinus Schmitt holds a Master degree in Business Administration from the University of Zurich. He is married and has a daughter.
Anne-Sophie d’Andlau is co-founder and managing partner at CIAM which she co-founded with Catherine Berjal, a Paris based asset manager specialized in merger opportunities. CIAM is involved in event driven (hard catalysts) and as such, manages global M&A situations, with a focus on activism in Europe. Prior to launching CIAM in 2009, Anne-Sophie spent eight years with Systeia Capital Management, a Paris based hedge fund manager, subsidiary of Amundi, mainly as a portfolio manager of their Event Driven funds. Before this, she spent six years with PricewaterhouseCoopers from 1995 to 2001, in their Audit and Corporate Finance departments, of which three years in New York. Anne-Sophie holds a Master degree in Finance from Rouen Business School in France.
Cas has been with Georgeson since 1998. Prior to that he had five years’ experience in international investor relations and shareholder identification. While honing his skills in the US, has run the European arm of Georgeson for the last 14 years.
Cas has an expert knowledge of global proxy voting mechanics and key governance matters affecting issuers and shareholders globally. Having worked for several activists and against many more he has in-depth experience and tactical expertise to support issuers in complex, sensitive activist campaigns.
Liana is former Global Head of M&A at Syngenta International AG, having joined in 2010. Prior to that she worked for 14 years in investment banking (i.e. M&A, corporate defence, capital raisings, private equity, project finance) in London, Tokyo, Zürich and New York, primarily with UBS and Nomura, covering a variety of sectors (e.g. chemicals, healthcare, technology, electronics, industrials, materials and transportation). She started her career with a 2-year spell in management consulting / strategic planning. Liana holds an MBA from IMD (Switzerland) and an MSc in Business Administration from Bocconi University (Italy).
Markus Guggenbühl primarily advises Swiss and foreign banks, financial services providers and international companies. His specialities include debt financing, capital market transactions (related to debt, equity and hybrid financial instruments) and financial services regulations where he ranks among the leading experts in Switzerland. He is recognized by the SIX Swiss Exchange as representative of issuers. In addition, Markus Guggenbühl has many years of experience in mergers & acquisitions, restructurings and bank insolvency law. He is the head of the firm's Banking & Finance practice group.
Patrick Förg is the Head Origination in the issuer relations team at SIX Swiss Exchange. In this function, he and his team are responsible for the origination of new listings through enhancing visibility and awareness of SIX Swiss Exchange as a listing location for Swiss and international companies, by managing and facilitating relationships with all stakeholders involved in the listing process and by acting as a capital market knowhow center for equity and debt capital markets. Before joining SIX Swiss Exchange, Patrick worked 12 years in the Corporate Finance & Treasury department of LafargeHolcim. He holds a BSc in Business Administration (Banking and Finance) and a Master of Advanced Studies in Corporate Finance.
Nikola lead’s Aon’s German transaction solutions team, where she is responsible for placing transactional risk solutions for M&A transactions such as warranty and indemnity insurances, tax insurances, litigation insurances or title insurances
Prior to this role, Nikola has gained fundamental experience on Swiss, German and other international transactions as a senior member at Marsh’s Private Equity and M&A Practice in London and Munich. Before joining Marsh, Nikola trained and qualified as a lawyer at Norton Rose Fulbright (Munich/Germany) in the corporate department. During this time, Nikola worked on various M&A deals and was also seconded to AXA Insurance and Deutsche Bank.
Nikola is a German qualified lawyer. She studied at the University of Regensburg/Germany with an exchange year at Tongji University in Shanghai/China.
Nikola also holds a MBA degree from the European Business School in London.
Wolfgang Eckert is leading the M&A activities for the RUAG Group.
Before he was the M&A Head EMEA for the largest Asian logistics company.
Wolfgang Eckert has started his career in the Big 4, working in M&A, Valuation & Financial Modelling, Separation & Integration and Audit.
He is a CFA Charterholder, Swiss Certified Accountant and graduated from the University of St. Gallen.
Philip is responsible for the product, sales and marketing strategy of Intralinks’ Strategic Financials business. He is also a member of the Advisory Board of the M&A Research Centre at Cass Business School, City, University of London. Prior to joining Intralinks in 2010, he worked for 17 years as an M&A investment banker and in management consulting. He began his career at Deloitte in London in the financial services practice and then worked at NatWest Markets Corporate Finance, Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein and in corporate development for The Rank Group Plc, as well as founding an M&A consulting firm. Philip holds postgraduate degrees in Finance and Computer Science and a BA in Linguistics, from the University of London.
Abhik Das is a Partner in the Private Debt Group at BlueBay Asset Management LLP in London and responsible for investments in Germany, Switzerland and Austria.
Prior to joining BlueBay in 2012, he was a member of the Principal Lending and Investing business at Macquarie in London, where he was responsible for a wide range of investments across the capital structure of European companies. Prior to that, Abhik spent two and a half years in the Leveraged Finance team at Lehman Brothers and Nomura in London. He started his career at Credit Suisse in Zurich.
Abhik graduated from the University of St.Gallen (HSG), Switzerland with an M.A. in Law and Economics. He also holds a dual CEMS Master in International Management (CEMS MIM) from both ESADE Barcelona and the University of St.Gallen.
