Tech deals lead the way in sluggish start to Nordic M&A

Equip yourself with five key statistics on how the year has started in Nordic M&A.

Acquirers have shown strong appetite for technology assets in the Nordic region in 2019. More than 1 in 4 of all M&A deals in the Nordic region have been of tech-related companies.

Private equity buyouts in the Nordic region hit record highs in 2018, with 226 deals announced but this hasn't helped a slower than usual start to the year for deal activity. The overall value of Nordic M&A deals as of 15th March 2019 stood at EUR 6.8bn, less than half the equivalent point in 2018.

The data was released by Mergermarket in partnership with Intralinks ahead of the Nordic M&A and Private Equity Forum

Of those deals, almost 80% of them were inbound acquirers, showing the attractiveness of the Nordic market for foreign investors.
